Dr. Donghwan Lee was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. He is a New York–licensed acupuncturist and is nationally board-certified in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, and Oriental Medicine. Dr. Lee is also a licensed practitioner in China.
He has a five-year bachelor’s degree and a three-year master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, the top TCM collage in China. He practiced for over 11 years at Dongzhimen Hospital and Guoyitang Hospital, which are both affiliated with the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. The strong academic background and intensive clinical trainings set him apart as one of the city’s most skilled experts in herb and acupuncture.
He has completed in-depth studies on constitutional medicine and the treatment of chronic disease under the instruction of Professor Wang Qi, one of the top "TCM Masters" nominated by the Chinese government. His master’s thesis, written on the efficacy of Chinese herbs to treat erectile dysfunction, was published in top Chinese journals.
He received intensive acupuncture training from Professor Huang Jianjun, a well-known Chinese acupuncturist and professor. Deep understanding of TCM theories enables him to select acu points and apply needles from a holistic approach and further ensure more effective treatments. He is highly adept at treating chronic pain, anxiety, migraine, fertility, and digestive issues.
Same symptoms do not always have the same causes. Dr Donghwan Lee has a wealth of experience of identifying the root causes of symptoms and customizing treatments accordingly. He is committed to creating a healing protocol that serves your total body wellness and your healthiest, happiest life.
